You Tube Is A Blast!

I chose a video of Joni Mitchell's Circle Game because she is the reason I became a singer/songwriter and also because I just sang this song at a graduation party for the daughter of my best pal. It is a great tool for listening to songs that you are not familiar with if you need to learn them quickly (as was the case at this same graduation party- Forever Young). Mary Sue and I have been using You Tube to find Pirate Songs for our upcoming library show here at Main, it's been a hoot...especially the guy from Dublin, Ireland singing pirate songs after a few beers in his living room.

PODCASTS

Alot of the podcasts sights that I tried required subscriptions so I went through Yahoo and found one called Loopsound.com, although this is not library related I figured it would be ok to look into a podcast that I could use in our home music studio. This sight has all kinds of sound effects that would be great to add another texture to songs our clients (or myself) might want on their CD's.
For instance I have a new song about a mother whose son is sailing off on Lake Superior and the sound of seagulls or waves would be a cool effect to add. I feel like I'm touching the tip of the iceberg and when I feel more confident doing this it could open up a whole new world of music possiblities (Terzah are you available for tutoring!!)

RSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

5/13/08
This one has taken me the longest by far....do I like it?....well yeah, I still find it a bit confusing. What do I like about it ? I like having links to the latest and greatest music being released and the art news is cool too. I will probably add a link to the Cornell newspaper once my kiddo, Kelton starts there in the Fall (so I can keep track of how freezing cold he is and all the gray days!) I found most of the feeds that I used just by googling RSS and then whatever subject matter I was most interested in.
I have spent way too much time trying to "get" this so I am going to move on to #5!
